Clem Chambers, journalist, author and CEO of ADVFN, has won Journalist of the Year in the Business Market Commentary category in the State Street UK Institutional Press Awards 2018.
The awards, now in their seventeenth year, recognise outstanding performance in institutional financial services reporting in the UK. The 2018 awards honour the contributions of journalists covering institutional investment, pensions, investor services, diversity and inclusion and technology themes over the past year.
Clem Chambers is the first winner of the newly added Business Market Commentary category and has been recognised for – amongst other writing – his columns in E&T magazine, the award-winning title from the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Clem, who is also a Forbes columnist and a contributor to many other global publications, is renowned for his incisive market commentary.
Led by Julian Marr, editor of Professional Adviser and Padraig Floyd, a veteran financial journalist, the entries were judged by an independent panel of industry professionals. The rest of the panel was comprised of respected figures from the UK and European financial services industry:
- Richard Butcher, PLSA Chair
- Gill Wadsworth, freelance journalist
- Lynn Strongin Dodds, freelance journalist
- Malcolm McLean, OBE, consultant, Barnett Waddingham
- Karen Tso, CNBC anchor
The winners were announced on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at a ceremony in London hosted by Liz Nolan, State Street’s chief executive officer for EMEA and Miles O’Connor, EMEA head of Institutional at State Street Global Advisors.
“We congratulate all shortlisted journalists and winners,” said Nolan. “With more than 140 entries submitted this year, the awards continue to recognise exceptional journalism and acknowledge the vital role that the press plays in providing information and a platform for opinion, education and debate.”
Clem Chambers will be at the MJAC & CryptoCompare London Blockchain Summit on November 30th – www.mjac.io
