Dow Jones News
Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Iranian President Hassan
Rouhani signed a series of bilateral accords in Tehran on Tuesday,
signaling their desire to restore ties after this year's
implementation of the Iran nuclear deal.
The agreements included plans for cooperation between Italian
energy electricity and gas company Enel and the National Iranian
Gas Export Co., Iranian state news agency IRNA reported. Other
deals included a car-component agreement with Danieli Group and an
agreement with the Milan Airports company to renovate a domestic
airport in Tehran, and another focused on promoting tourism,
according to IRNA.
Italy ranked among Iran's top trading partners before
international sanctions were imposed on Iran over its nuclear
ambitions.
