SHANGHAI, Oct. 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Caohejing, a
leading high-tech park in Shanghai, launched an international technology
innovation carnival on October 26
with agreements signed with well-known partners.
According to the agreements, PricewaterhouseCoopers, DTZ and 3M
will join hands with the Caohejing Technology Innovation Center to
strengthen innovation cooperation, said the Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park
Development Corporation.
The three partners, also the
global leaders in respective industries, will provide guidance for
the park in intellectual property patents, tax advice and
innovation ecosystem establishment.
Present at the signing ceremony
were Lingang Group Chairman Liu Jiaping, Li Yanrong, academician of
the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Focus Media Founder
Jiang Nanchun; Fosun Pharma Chairman
Chen Qiyu, Zhou Wei, managing
partner of KPCB, Zhu Xiaohu, managing director of the Jingshajiang
Venture Capital, FarWest Entertainment Founder and CEO Jon Niermann and more than 300 companies from
over 10 countries.
They also attended the opening ceremony of the annual
entrepreneurship & innovation conference themed "future
together with innovation and technology."
Gui Enliang, vice president of the Lingang Group, chairman and
general manager of the Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Development
Corporation, made the opening speech, saying that Caohejing is a
pioneer and leader in driving the growth of China's entrepreneurship &
innovations.
Over the past 32 years, he said, an innovation "tribe" has been
formed thanks to the park's strenuous efforts. By leveraging the
carnival, Caohejing is expected to be able to gather and introduce
a variety of innovation resources, and take a solid step toward
becoming an important home to the city's and even the nation's
innovation centers.
Innovation Practice
With more than 30 years' development, the hi-tech park has
become home of 81 Top 500 global companies, taking a critical
mission to make Shanghai a global
influential technology innovation center.
The carnival has launched overseas high-level technology talent
fairs, seminars on international co-incubation and the Caohejing
international incubation consortium in order to support the park's
industrial transformation by cooperating with the world's top 500
companies.
The carnival organizer invited local startup and innovation
companies to have direct dialogues with the world's top 500
enterprises on how to make innovations, how to create an innovation
atmosphere and how to push forward innovations.
During the carnival, 3M China
took the initiative to announce the establishment of China's first robot grinding design center in
order to share its experience and advanced robot grinding
technology with related partners. BMW, Johnson & Johnson,
Tencent, Intel and other enterprises
also presented their respective innovative experience and practice
in artificial intelligence, biomedicine, robotics, big data and
Internet of Things.
Innovation Creates Opportunities
The carnival was highlighted by the Innovation and
Entrepreneurship Competition with over 400 candidates from
China, Silicon Valley in
the United States, Israel, Germany and South
Korea. Of them, 53 were from overseas enterprises, 126 from
universities and research institutes and 229 from makers' teams,
covering popular artificial intelligence technologies, UAV
technology, new materials, intelligent hardware, bio-medicine,
mobile applications and other fields.
The competition aims to promote the exchange and cooperation
between local innovation centers and their global counterparts.
It is also an effort for the
global innovation ecosphere linkage. The competition is created to
drive the industrialization of innovation results and the docking
of innovation projects with the real productivity with an eye on
the global industrial change.
With interactive online and offline activities, the carnival
creates a fast channel for the world's outstanding projects to land
in Shanghai. In the contest, 30
projects will be displayed and six will be selected for the final
contest on October 27. Contest judges
are all well-known experts from China's leading venture capital companies.
Carnival Presents Innovation Strength
Overseas innovative resources were introduced to help local
enterprises to go abroad. During the carnival, Caohejing launched a
technology oasis for Founders Space from the Silicon Valley of
the United States, Hesse from
Germany, Yu Shougen from
South Korea, Fishburners from
Australia, the International University Innovation Alliance and
other well-known international incubators.
With regard to the contribution to a global technology &
innovation center and technology innovation, the carnival has made
full use of Shanghai's regional
and policy advantages, trying to link its financial, policy and
technology innovation and help capital, technology and human
resources to go cross-border freely and efficiently.
From October 26 to 29, the
carnival will fully showcase Caohejing's innovative and
entrepreneurial atmosphere and environment to reflect its spirit in
the encouragement of startup business and tolerance to failure.
More than 50 parallel activities will be held to introduce
technologies, fashion, music and food. It is expected to have
20,000 participants.
The interactive "Creative Market" will have 200 different forms
of creative booths created by makers from China and other countries, showing a high-tech
atmosphere and presenting a stage for young makers to unleash their
personality and vitality. Participants will not only show their
in-person cross-border innovation experience, but also share their
achievements in creating productivity through innovation with
counterparts.
