FRANKFURT--Lending to eurozone households and businesses remained steady in September, date from the European Central Bank showed on Thursday.

Lending to firms increased 1.9% in annual terms in September after an increase of 1.9% in August. Lending to eurozone households grew 1.8%, matching the previous month, the ECB said.

The central bank's M3 money supply indicator grew 5.0% on a year in September after 5.1% in August. Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal had expected growth of 5.1%.
