Item 8.01 Other Events.
On January 19, 2017, TCF Financial Corporation (the "Company"), announced that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau filed a civil lawsuit against TCF National Bank, the principal wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, related to its overdraft opt-in practices.
A copy of the media statement issued by the Company is included as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
