Company reinforces support for patients wishing to grow their
own medical cannabis supply
Smiths Falls, ON, March 14, 2017 /CNW/ - Tweed Inc. (Tweed or
the Company), Canada's largest
cannabis producer is proud to announce that it has launched sales
of a variety of top tier seeds, under its HomeGrow
Collection banner. Consisting of 10 cannabis varieties ranging
from low & high THC to CBD options, the HomeGrow
Collection is designed to meet the needs of a variety of
patients managing a variety of symptoms.
"Our goal is to offer a wide selection of cannabis products in a
variety of formats, from dried bud and blends, to oils," said
Mark Zekulin, President of Canopy
Growth Corporation (TSX: WEED), Tweed's parent company. "We know
there is demand for high-quality cannabis seeds and we have long
supported the patient's individual right to grow their own medicine
so this is a special day for our company."
In addition to seeds, Tweed will offer authorized patients a
stable interim supply of medical cannabis starting with a one-time
$25 discount toward any available
product in the Tweed shop.
Home growing was not a part of the regulatory framework for the
first few years of Tweed's operations, but became possible after
activists and legal advocates fought to have it reintroduced into
the federal regulations.
While the Company is supportive of any patient choosing to grow
at home, its primary focus remains on supplying ready-to-consume
cannabis products to the rapidly growing number of Canadians
choosing the convenience and quality that comes from Tweed's focus
on producing the best possible cannabis under the strictest
controls and care.
Here's to Future Growth.
