ATLANTA, May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- National DCP, (NDCP) the $2 billion supply chain management cooperative serving Dunkin' Donuts franchisees, has hired Robert A. Sharpe to serve as President and Chief Operating Officer. Sharpe will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Scott Carter.

With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in North America, Europe and Asia, Sharpe has an impressive track record transforming food processing, packaging and manufacturing companies into multi-billion dollar regional and global leaders. Prior to joining NDCP, he served as the President and CEO of CSM Bakery Solutions in Atlanta, Georgia. Previous roles have also included Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Campofrío Food Group in Madrid, Spain; President, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Groupe Smithfield in Paris, France; and serving as President, International Operations, of Smithfield Foods, Inc. in Smithfield, Virginia.

As the President and COO, Sharpe will direct NDCP in the execution of its strategic long-term goals, enabling growth, high service level delivery and profitability. He has executive level responsibility for all operations functions including distribution, supply chain and manufacturing ventures and over time, will assume leadership of additional corporate functions. Focused on taking NDCP to the next level, Sharpe is committed to building success-driven teams enabled by a highly-collaborative corporate culture.

Community involvement is a key priority for Sharpe.  A member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), he currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Isdell Center for Global Leadership. Previous Board memberships have also included Groupe Smithfield, Campofrío Food Group, National Capital Area Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Fairchild Corporation and Capital Associates, Inc. Sharpe earned his MBA degree from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science, Finance and Administration from the University of Michigan.
