Captured this past July, the historic concert is the latest—and arguably most anticipated—for "Landmarks Live In Concert," the critically acclaimed PBS docu-series featuring a lineup of global superstars performing at monumental locations around the world.

"We've done some crazy things over the last 20 years," says Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, "but I think this might be the craziest thing the Foo Fighters have ever done."

"Working with the Foo Fighters was a wonderful experience and I can't wait for the world to see this show," says Daniel E Catullo III, creator, director and executive producer of "Landmarks Live In Concert." "Logistically this was the largest undertaking and production I've ever done. Almost a year of planning, hundreds of people on the crew, coordination with the Greek Government, major logistics and coordination with the band, and putting a rock show in an ancient amphitheater. The energy of the crowd and seeing the band perform in such a historic place is something I will never forget. This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life."

"Landmarks Live In Concert" was created by veteran documentary and live producer/director Daniel E Catullo III and hosted by Chad Smith, drummer for multi-Grammy winning rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Each episode sees Smith conducting one-on-one interviews with the performers as they explore their favorite locations around each Landmark. The show's travelogue component is co-produced with Bungalow Media + Entertainment.

About the upcoming episode, Smith says, "The Acropolis hasn't been rocked that hard in a while - maybe 2500 hundred years, give or take. It was an amazing experience, made extra special that I could spend it with my longtime friends, the mighty Foos."

"Landmarks Live In Concert" premiered this past January with Alicia Keys at multiple locations around New York City, including the famed Apollo Theater. Subsequent episodes included Brad Paisley at West Virginia University and most recently, Andrea Bocelli live at Florence's beautiful Palazzo Vecchio.

"Landmarks Live In Concert" is a production of City Drive Films. Daniel E Catullo III, CEO of City Drive Films is the series creator, director and executive producer. The series is co-produced with Bungalow Media + Entertainment. Its CEO, industry veteran Robert Friedman also serves as executive producer.

For "GREAT PERFORMANCES," Bill O'Donnell is series producer; David Horn is executive producer.  Stephen Segaller is executive-in-charge for WNET.

"GREAT PERFORMANCES" is produced by THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET, one of America's most prolific and respected public media providers.  Throughout its more than 40 year history on public television, "GREAT PERFORMANCES" has provided viewers across the country with an unparalleled showcase of the best in all genres of the performing arts, serving as America's most prestigious and enduring broadcaster of cultural programming.

About Foo Fighters

In the 22 years since the 1995 release of Foo Fighters' self-titled debut album, Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee  have grown into the last great American arena/stadium rock band, won 11 Grammy Awards, sold more than 25 million records and raised tens of thousands of voices night after night with modern rock's most indelible anthems.

Foo Fighters' journey began with that 1995 debut and grew into one of rock's most hallowed discographies, including 1997's double-platinum The Colour and the Shape, Best Rock Album Grammy winners There Is Nothing Left To Lose (1999) and One By One (2002), the epic double LP Your Honor released in the FF 10th anniversary year of 2005, third and fourth Best Rock Album Grammy winners Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace (2007) and Wasting Light (2011), and eighth FF album Sonic Highways, which shares its title with Grohl's double-Emmy-winning HBO docuseries. In 2015, the band's 20th anniversary celebration was the year's #5 grossing tour--after which the band released the free Saint Cecilia EP as a thank you to its fans.

Foo Fighters recently resurfaced with "Run," the surprise hard rock anthem of the summer and first taste of the band's upcoming ninth album Concrete and Gold. Unleashed without warning, "Run" and its mind-boggling time warp of a video combined powers to produce the biggest launch of any Foo Fighters single—making Concrete and Gold's release possibly the most highly anticipated in the band's history.
