--The Netherlands' top administrative court dismissed a government plan to limit production at a major gas field in Groningen operated by NAM, the Royal Dutch Shell and ExxonMobil joint venture, Reuters reports.

--The court said it was "unacceptable" to potentially keep production unchanged for five years when it could be possible to cut demand further, meaning the government will need to draft a new plan, according to Reuters.

--NAM said the ruling supports its view that a safe level of production can be determined with the appropriate models, while Groningen residents affected by earthquakes stemming from the gas field also lauded the decision, Reuters reports.
