UK retail sales across all sectors rose more than expected in January
In the UK, retail sales across all sectors recorded a climb of 7.10% on a YoY basis in January, compared to a rise of 4.80% in the prior month.
Eurozone investor confidence index unexpectedly dropped in February
In the Eurozone, the investor confidence index unexpectedly fell to a level of -0.20 in February, compared to a level of 1.30 in the previous month. Market anticipations were for the index to climb to a level of 1.90.
German industrial production fell in December
In Germany, the seasonally adjusted industrial production recorded a flat reading on a MoM basis in December, compared to a revised rise of 1.50% in the previous month. Markets were expecting the industrial production to record a rise of 0.30%.
Australia’s business confidence index advanced in January
In Australia, the business confidence index rose to a level of 10.00 in January, compared to a revised level of 5.00 in the previous month.
Australian business conditions index dropped in January
In Australia, the business conditions index fell to a level of 7.00 in January, compared to a revised reading of 16.00 in the prior month.
