UK CPI rose less than expected in March
In the UK, the CPI recorded a rise of 0.70% on a YoY basis in March, compared to an advance of 0.40% in the prior month. Market expectations were for the CPI to rise 0.80%.
UK house price index advanced in February
In the UK, the house price index recorded a climb of 8.60% on a YoY basis in February, compared to a revised rise of 8.00% in the previous month.
UK retail price index climbed as expected in March
In the UK, the retail price index rose 0.30% on a MoM basis in March, at par with market expectations and compared to a rise of 0.50% in the prior month.
US number of mortgage applications rose in the week ended 16 April 2021
In the US, the number of mortgage applications jumped 8.60% on a weekly basis in the week ended 16 April 2021, compared to a fall of 3.70% in the previous week.
