Euro-zone services PMI advanced more than expected in April
In the Euro-zone, the final services PMI registered a rise to 50.50 in April, compared to a reading of 49.60 in the previous month. Market expectations were for the services PMI to climb to 50.30.
German services PMI dropped in April
In Germany, the final services PMI dropped to a reading of 49.90 in April, compared to a level of 51.50 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the services PMI to drop to a level of 50.10.
US private sector employment rose in April
In the US, the private sector employment climbed by 742.00K in April, less than market forecast and compared to a revised increase of 565.00K jobs in the prior month.
US ISM services index unexpectedly dropped in April
In the US, the ISM services index registered an unexpected drop to a level of 62.70 in April, compared to a reading of 63.70 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the Index to record a rise to a level of 64.30.
US mortgage applications eased in the week ended 30 April 2021
In the US, the number of mortgage applications eased 0.90% on a weekly basis in the week ended 30 April 2021, compared to a drop of 2.50% in the previous week.
