UK house prices rose in September

In the UK, house prices advanced 1.70% on a MoM basis in September, compared to a revised rise of 0.80% in the prior month.

Germany industrial production fell more than expected in August

In Germany, the seasonally adjusted industrial production dropped 4.00% on a MoM basis in August, compared to a revised rise of 1.30% in the previous month. Markets were expecting industrial production to record a fall of 0.40%.

US initial jobless claims dropped more than expected in the week ended 1 October 2021

In the US, initial jobless claims fell to a level of 326.00 K in the week ended 1 October 2021, compared to a revised level of 364.00 K in the prior week. Markets were expecting initial jobless claims to drop to 348.00 K.

China’s services PMI advanced more than anticipated in September

In China, the services PMI rose to 53.40 in September, compared to a level of 46.70 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the services PMI to advance to 50.70.

Japan recorded a trade deficit in August

Japan recorded a trade deficit of ¥372.40 billion in August, compared to a surplus of ¥622.30 billion in the prior month.
