UK unemployment rate fell as expected in the three months to August

Unemployment rate in the UK dropped to 4.50% in the three months ended August, in line with market expectations and compared to a rate of 4.60% in the prior month.

UK average earnings including bonus rose more than expected in August

In the UK, average earnings including bonus advanced 7.20% on a YoY basis in August, compared to a level of 8.30% in the previous month. Markets were expecting average earnings to record a rise of 7.00%.

Euro-zone economic sentiment index dropped in October

In the Euro-zone, the economic sentiment index eased to 21.00 in October, compared to a level of 31.10 in the previous month.

Germany’s economic sentiment index dropped more than anticipated in October

In Germany, the economic sentiment index fell to 22.30 in October, compared to a reading of 26.50 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to drop to 24.00.

US business optimism index fell in September

In the US, the business optimism index dropped to 99.10 in September, compared to a level of 100.10 in the prior month.
