EMERYVILLE, Calif.,
April 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/
-- Project6 Design has won again at the Horizon Interactive
Awards, a leading international interactive media awards. The
competition has announced the 2017 award winners to highlight this
year's "best of the best" in interactive media production.
Project6 Design was recognized for their excellence with Gold,
Silver, and Bronze awards for their work with CrossFit,
Clackamas Community College, and Zetta
respectively.
A new and dynamic look was needed to showcase the CrossFit Games
events' growing popularity, and accommodate the ever increasing
percentages of mobile website visitors. With athlete participation
and media buzz increasing exponentially each year, CrossFit turned
to Project6 to improve the site from the ground up.
Working closely with the CrossFit IT department, a new system
was developed that delivers content both from their internal
databases and various Drupal media content types. With the upgraded
system in place, a new and improved UI/UX was developed for the
front-end. The stunning redesign makes use of the full screen and
is a much bolder approach and optimized the entire experience for
website visitors who were on the go.
Oregon-based Clackamas Community College (CCC) offers high
quality education and training opportunities for students looking
to earn a degree or certificate, get an affordable jumpstart to
transfer to a four-year university, or simply to continue their
lifelong learning.
Over the years, CCC's website had outgrown its existing design.
Information sprawled across the site, difficult to find and
disorienting to use. Navigational naming was vague and confusing.
Too many features and messages competed for attention. Beyond that,
the look and feel of the site—built for desktop only—simply didn't
do the the forward-thinking administration and vibrant student body
any justice: the dull palette, flat graphics, and staged
photographs simply did not bring the school to life. To add to the
frustration, marketing updates rolled out slowly because all
changes had to be routed through the IT department.
Clackamas brought a solid
foundation of strategic user and analytics research to the table
and chose the Sitefinity system as their CMS at the outset of the
project. Armed with this background, Project6 proposed a clear,
scaleable architecture to enable users to browse
effectively—without becoming lost or feeling overwhelmed. Fresh
layouts brought the up-to-date brand to life, infusing the site
with video and imagery, and balancing the need to inspire and
inform potential future students while providing important tools,
resources, and instructions for existing ones.
The CCC site now reflects the vibrant campus that it represents.
Students shine on every page. Pages are responsive across desktop,
tablets, and smartphones. New user controls serve up dynamic data
to inform students' schedules. The Athletics section—once an
entirely separate website—is knit seamlessly into the site. Best of
all, the marketing team has full control of the bold, unified look
and feel, with more than a dozen modules at their disposal to
address and respond to their student body's changing needs.
Zetta achieved brand consistency with their new identity, brand
design, marketing collateral, trade show booth, and website design.
Utilizing the latest web technology: Drupal 8 web design, SaaS,
Bootstrap, Marketo CRM integration, animated SVG icons, responsive
development, parallax image display and a fixed header for constant
access to business-critical CTA, the new website is primed to last
and make a big impact on the bottom line.
The 2017 awards competition saw over 1000 entries from around
the world including 36 out of 50 US States and 16 other countries
including: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Hong
Kong, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, and the United Arab Emirates.
An international panel of judges, consisting of industry
professionals with diverse backgrounds evaluated categories ranging
from online advertising to mobile applications. The 2017 winning
entries showcase the industry's best interactive media solutions
including web sites, mobile applications, print media, interactive
displays, public exhibits, online advertising, video, email and
more.
"The 2017 competition was an extremely interesting competition
for many reasons. We saw a return to simplicity of the user
experiences, an emphasis on minimal design, a deepening of the
importance of mobile first design and more targeted and streamlined
content to bolster the user's offline experiences," Said,
Mike Sauce- Founder of the Horizon
Interactive Awards. "In addition, we continue to see and
integration of multiple types of media to seamlessly integrate
social channels, audio, video, 360° immersive video, and stunning
photography. Many of the top award winners illustrate a perfect
balance of form and function that are as welcoming and interesting
to look at as they are in their overall purpose."
The Horizon Interactive Awards holds the competition each year
with the winners being announced the following April.
