MONROE, Conn., Oct. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Every
year, the Idea House by This Old House brings together designers
and product sponsors to document the full construction of a dream
home in a desirable, historical location. Projects of the recent
past include the 2015 Cottage at Cloudland Station in Georgia, the 2016 Farmhouse at Emerson Green
in Massachusetts, and the 2017
Beach House in Rhode Island. This
year's Idea House returned to Rhode
Island, in Narragansett,
with a beach-town bungalow theme and the input of a new partner,
The House Designers.
For more than 15 years, The House Designers has served countless
builders and future homeowners with an extensive collection of
ready-to-build residential blueprints. House plans are available in
a wide variety of architectural styles and collections to help
customers easily find a home plan to meet their needs and budget.
The House Designers embarked on a new partnership with This Old
House in late 2017 to extend quality blueprints directly to their
discerning fanbase, and in doing so, became involved in the latest
Idea House project.
"We were very excited to partner with This Old House," said
Tammy Crosby, CEO of The House
Designers. "They took the basic design elements and concepts of a
Craftsman exterior and worked with the Providence-based Union Studio architectural
firm and Sweenor Builders to create and draft a floor plan that
expanded the original design and that fit This Old House's
vision."
Situated in a historical seaside community, the Idea House's
traditional Craftsman cottage exterior fits perfectly into the
beachside neighborhood it was built. The home offers 2,700 square
feet of built-in features, a master suite on each story, two
additional bedrooms upstairs, and charming, private guest quarters
over the detached garage. A closer look at the floor plan reveals
convenient extras including ample mudroom and pantry storage, a
library with desk space, and two laundry rooms so owners and guests
don't have to carry their laundry up and down the stairs. Finally,
there's a fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and open-air shower—perfect
additions for a beach getaway.
This Old House teamed up with Union Studio architectural firm
and Sweenor Builders who did most of the drafting and custom
built-ins that ultimately brought this home from paper to reality.
Having partnered with them for the 2017 Idea House, there was no
question that this new project would produce another beautiful
home. Construction began in April and everything was fully
furnished in time for an early September open house where over a
thousand visitors toured the home and property.
"It's obvious how much thought and effort the This Old House
team put into this new home, from the planning stage all the way
through to the product finishes and impeccable furnishings," said
Crosby.
Complete, IRC-compliant blueprints for the 2018 Idea House can
be purchased on TheHouseDesigners.com. While originally designed
and outfitted for coastal New England conditions, the new house
plans can be made efficient for all climates.
"By offering these blueprints, we make it possible for anybody,
anywhere to build this gorgeous home to their own specifications,"
said Crosby. "There's only one 2018 Idea House, but we know that
consumers across the country will resonate with this design and
want it in their own dream locations."
The House Designers offers free estimates on modifications,
which are available for all of their house plans. If you'd like to
purchase and/or personalize this home for your needs, you can
email, live chat, or call their experienced sales team for
assistance.
