Sportingbet plc announces that 28,580,358 new ordinary shares of 0.1p each (the
"New Ordinary Shares") have been issued and allotted to the vendors of
SportsBook as part payment of the Settlement Arrangements announced on 25 July
2003.

Application has been made for the New Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading
on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange.  Following
the issue of these shares, the issued share capital of Sportingbet is
207,775,719 ordinary shares of 0.1p each.
