Amazon.com Inc. is planning a new fulfillment center in Delaware that will create over 1,000 full-time jobs.

Amazon and Delaware Gov. John Carney said Tuesday the new facility will be located at the site of a former General Motors' plant in Wilmington.

The fulfillment center, which will cover over 820,000 square feet on the ground floor, will join two other Amazon facilities in the state, which are located in New Castle and in Middletown.

Amazon currently has over 110 fulfillment centers in North America and 185 globally.
