Cisco Systems Inc. has named John Harris II to its board, effective Thursday.

Most recently, Mr. Harris served as the vice president of business development for Raytheon Co., now Raytheon Technologies Corp., and as chief executive officer of Raytheon International Inc., where he presided over marketing and sales, and international business and government relations.

Mr. Harris, who joined Raytheon in 1983, has held various roles in different parts of the company. He also headed the company's executive diversity leadership team. He was awarded the Black Engineer of the Year award in February 2010.
