PayPal Holdings Inc., Uber Technologies Inc. and Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. said Monday the companies have launched a program which will enable customers to donate to the Vaccine Access Fund, which provides free rides for people in underserved communities to get to a vaccination site.

The companies said their new Vaccine Access Fund allows customers to donate to vaccine access efforts, adding "starting today customers can donate to the Vaccine Access Fund directly through the Uber app using a new donate feature supported by PayPal Giving Fund." The companies also said they would be donating $11 million to the Vaccine Access Fund.

The donations will be given to and managed by Local Initiatives Support Corporation, a national community development organization, the companies said.
