Artepharm Global Corp. (the "Company") (OTCBB: ARGC)
(www.artepharmglobal.com) is pleased to announce that Doctors
Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) will be involved
with the malaria eradication project on the Comoros Islands led by
Artepharm Co.
The original project by Artepharm Co. was the subject of an
18-minute documentary by the TV news show Dateline (Australia) in
March 2009. The documentary showcased Artepharm Co.'s work in
eradicating malaria on the island of Moheli, in the Comoros Islands
off the east coast of Africa. Just months after the Moheli project
was launched in November 2007, the island's malaria infection rate
dropped rapidly from 22% to 2%. Within the year leading up to this
documentary, there were no deaths attributed to malaria. The full
documentary can be viewed at
http://www.sbs.com.au/dateline/story/about/id/600026/n/The-Last-Bite
or on our website at www.artepharmglobal.com.
The current project, financed in part by the Qatar Foundation
(see our press release dated July 7th, 2010), will target the
entire population of the Comoros Islands. The size and scope of
this project is roughly 25 times that of the original project on
Moheli, covering over 800,000 people. The success of a project of
this nature will further solidify the effectiveness of the
Company's anti-malarial drug, Artequick©.
The Company is very pleased to report that Doctors Without
Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), a Nobel Peace Prize winning
humanitarian organization, will monitor and analyze the results the
current project. Today, MSF provides aid in nearly 60 countries to
people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or
catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics,
malnutrition, exclusion from healthcare, or natural disasters. MSF
provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need.
MSF reserves the right to speak out to bring attention to neglected
crises, to challenge inadequacies or abuse of the aid system, and
to advocate for improved medical treatments and protocols.
