Business Wire
The Motion Picture Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets:MPRG), a film and
entertainment financing and production company, announced today an
addition to its team for the completion of the feature film
HOUNDDOG which premiered last month at The Sundance Film
Festival. Due to scheduling conflicts, Sabine Hoffman, the films
original editor, was replaced by Andrew Marcus. Andrew has edited
such extraordinary films as Under the Tuscan Sun, Divine Secrets of
the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, American Psycho, Mary Shelleys Frankenstein,
Much Ado About Nothing, and the Academy Award-winning Howards End
(9 nominations, 3 awards). Director, Deborah Kampmeier, stated, I
am grateful to Sundance for acknowledging the potential in such an
early cut of my film. The attention, recognition and support they
gave me has given our team the confidence and me the opportunity to
go back in and complete the film with my vision intact. As hard as
it is to lose Sabine, I could not be more excited about working
with Andy. His talent is extraordinary and he really gets the film.
I feel certain he will be able to bring it to the next level with
me. Scott Franklin, Executive Producer of the film and CEO of The
Motion Picture Group, added, It was clearly worth the rush in
getting the film ready for Sundance, even with the stressful
working environment it created. The film would not be as far along
as it is today had it not been for the festivals overwhelming
support. We look forward to completing the film with Andy on board
and getting it out to the public in the coming months. The
willingness of someone as talented as Andy joining the project
further reaffirms to us the quality of filmmaking already present
in HOUNDDOG. About Andrew Marcus Andrew Marcus began his editing
career with Merchant Ivory Films. His films include Mr. and Mrs.
Bridge, Howards End, Remains of the Day, Surviving Picasso, and
Jefferson In Paris. Andy has also collaborated several times with
director Kenneth Branagh on such films as Mary Shelleys
Frankenstein, Peters Friends and Much Ado About Nothing. Andy was
the editor and second unit director of John Camerons Hedwig and
the Angry Inch and Mary Harrons American Psycho. Andy went on to
edit Callie Khouries Ya-Ya Sisterhood. His recent credits include
such films as Under the Tuscan Sun, Home At the End of the World,
Everything is Illuminated, and most recently, Tenderness. About the
Film: HOUNDDOG," a drama set in the 1950s American South, is about
a troubled 12-year old girl (Dakota Fanning) who finds solace from
an abusive life in the music of Elvis Presley. Presleys music is
placed strategically throughout the film, creating a mural of a
melancholy life that finds its release and healing through singing
the Blues. About The Motion Picture Group, Inc. Founded by Henri
