U.K.'s Ofcom Issues New Regulations for Broadband Upgrade

The U.K.'s Office of Communications on Thursday issued new
regulations for upgrading full-fiber broadband nationwide.
Following the regulator's announcement, telecommunications group
BT Group PLC said it intends to deliver fiber broadband to 20
million premises in the country by the second half of this
decade.
The company said it expects to have a fair return on its 12
billion pound ($16.76 billion) investment in fiber to the premises
broadband.
BT shares at 0815 GMT were down 4.30 pence, or 2.7%, at 148.35
pence.
