Compact Power announces that it is in negotiations which are expected to result
in the sale of the Company's plant in Avonmouth.  Under the planned
arrangements, Compact Power's subsidiary, BATNEEC Bristol Limited, which
currently operates the plant, will continue to do so and the purchaser will
receive an annual return.  Compact Power will continue to be able to use the
plant as its reference plant for trials and demonstrations for the promotion of
its technology.



The negotiations regarding the plant at Avonmouth are part of a more general
framework which is under active discussion for the financing of future projects
and is consistent with Compact Power's policy of creating strategic
relationships to provide commercial, financial and engineering support for
project developments and implementation.



The Company's current cash position is as anticipated in the interim report
issued in December 2003.  The necessity, timing and amount of any further
fundraising will be dependent on the purchase price received for the sale of the
plant which is being discussed as part of the negotiations.  The Directors are
confident that these negotiations will be concluded by the end of March.
