Europe-wide Patent Granted for G+ in Golf Balls

Directa Plus (AIM: DCTA), a leading producer and supplier of graphene nanoplatelets based products for use in consumer and industrial markets, announces that the Company has been granted an EU-wide patent covering the use of its G+(R) graphene in golf ball applications. The reference date for the patent is 23 December 2016.

The patent covers a family of formulations and compounds containing G+(R) graphene nanoplatelets for golf ball applications. Using these compounds at different loadings provides the basis for developing a new generation of high-performance golf balls aimed at both the professional and recreational markets. For professionals, G+(R) can be used to enhance the hard-core of golf balls to maximise shot distance, without losing lateral control. For amateurs, a different formulation of G+(R) can be used to increase distance while at the same time maximising control.

Following the grant of patent, Directa Plus will commence a selection process for a partner to commercialise the technology.
