Appointment of Chief Operating Officer
London, 1 July 2020: The Board of Helios Towers plc ("HT" or
"Company"; LSE: HTWS) is pleased to announce the appointment today
of its current Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Tom Greenwood, to the
newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). The creation
of the role reflects the ambitions of the Company, the foundations
of which have been enhanced not only by the successful IPO of the
business in 2019, but also the refinancing and expansion of the
company's debt facilities, both to fund organic and inorganic
growth.
Mr Greenwood joined the Company in 2010, became Finance Director
in 2012 and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2015. He has
significant experience of the operating dynamics of the business.
The Board has appointed an international search firm to commence
the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of CFO
of the Company. The search will be led by Chairman and Chair of the
Nomination Committee, Sir Sam Jonah and Chief Executive Officer,
Kash Pandya.
Manjit Dhillon, Head of Investor Relations and Corporate
Finance, has been appointed as Interim CFO. Mr Dhillon qualified as
a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) with Deloitte and held a number of
positions in the financial services sector before joining the
Company in 2016.
Sir Sam Jonah, Chairman, said today: "I am delighted for Tom
that he has accepted the new role of COO. He has always been a
hands-on CFO with a very commercial and operational outlook. This
expansion of the executive team provides the Company with
additional resources to drive the business forward. The search for
a new CFO begins immediately and the Board will provide an update
to shareholders in due course."
Kash Pandya, Chief Executive Officer, added: "Tom is an
outstanding CFO and over the past 5 years, it has become clear to
me that he is an exceptional operational leader. He knows every
detail of the business and has been an important part of the team
that has driven the performance of the business. I look forward to
working with him in his new role."

About Helios Towers ("HT")
-- Helios Towers is a leading independent telecommunications
tower infrastructure company in Africa, having established one of
the continent's most extensive tower portfolios with close to 7,000
towers across five countries. It builds, owns and operates telecom
passive infrastructure, providing services to mobile network
operators.
-- HT owns and operates more sites than any other operator in
each of Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo ("DRC"), and Congo
Brazzaville. It is also a leading operator in Ghana with a strong
urban presence and established a presence in South Africa in
2019.
-- HT pioneered the model in Africa of buying towers that were
held by single operators and providing services utilising the tower
infrastructure to the seller and other operators. This allows
wireless operators to outsource non-core tower-related activities,
enabling them to focus their capital and managerial resources on
providing higher quality services more cost-effectively.
