Scancell Holdings PLC said Wednesday that Jean-Michel Cossery has been appointed nonexecutive chairman of the board with immediate effect, and that Chairman John Chiplin will step down following this appointment.

The London-listed biopharmaceutical company said Mr. Cossery has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, having been vice president for North America Oncology at Eli Lilly & Co. He also served as vice president and chief marketing officer at GE HealthCare Technologies Inc. global headquarters.

Shares at 0912 GMT were up 0.50 pence, or 2.6%, at 19.75 pence.
