Local company develops new petri dish

A local biotechnology company has started production on a new type of petri dish that it says has the potential to shape the future of laboratory testing.
Nanologix, a small company tucked behind the Emerald Diner at 843 North Main St., finished renovations of its production facility earlier this year and has started to manufacture its BioNanoPore, or BNP, test kits. The company expects to begin full-scale production βany day now,β said chief executive Bret Barnhizer.
The patented BNP technology, developed at the companyβs research lab in Cincinnati, promises to confirm the presence of microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses in a fraction of the time needed by standard petri dishes, Barnhizer said.
βWeβre looking forward to making a big impact in the market,β he said. βI donβt think we are going to be a small company for very long.β
The Hubbard site, a former bath and cabinet shop, has room for 56 production machines with the capacity to produce 350,000 test kits per day.
The company has only installed eight machines so far, but more are on the way, said Barnhizer.
Nanologix has 10 employees working at its Hubbard facility, and plans to hire about 10 more by the end of the year, Barnhizer said. At full capacity, the site could employ 75-100 workers, he said.
βOur goal is high-volume production,β Barnhizer said.
Barnhizer expects that, as Nanologixβs technology becomes better known, the company will be able to corner a significant portion of the laboratory testing market.
Unlike standard petri dishes, the BNP product puts the microorganism on a membrane that is impermeable to the cells. The nutrient solution below and above the membrane allow the organism to grow.
Instead of waiting for microorganism growth to become visible in the petri dish, the membrane is put on a staining solution that highlights growth before it could be seen in a standard petri dish.
βWeβre the next generation of petri dishes,β Barnhizer said. βWe are going to make it so people depend on petri dishes.β
The technology has been successfully tested by several third party laboratories, Barnhizer said.
The Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, an applied science and technology company, published a study last year that shows that BNP kits showed results in significantly less time than traditional methods in tests for anthrax and bubonic plagues. According to the study, the BNP anthrax tests took only six hours, while traditional tests needed 24. And the BNP tests for bubonic plague cut the traditional testing time β 48 hours β in half.
The potential for Nanologixβs rapid detection technology is huge, Barnhizer said. For example, if doctors could detect harmful pathogens β such as staphylococcus, which causes staph infections, or Group B streptococcus, a harmful bacteria found in 30 percent of reproductive-age women β in a shorter amount of time, they would not have to use broad-spectrum antibiotics while waiting for test results. This would presumably lessen the existence of antibiotic-resistent bacteria, Barnhizer added.
βThis is pretty much the biggest thing to happen to the petri dish,β Barnhizer said. βI wonβt say itβs as big as penicillin, but its huge.β

It's all pretty sad because a lot of people got burned. But, thankfully no one can lose anymore money. We all have our opinions, including me. But, when you look at 16 yrs of press releases that made things out to be so big and alluring only to stop and disappear, like it vanished. Much if not all with no transparency and explanation. On the surface, it was very misleading!! The 4-hour Rapid detection to accurately determine microorganisms like Ecoli, infections, and other bacterial conditions would have cornered the market Vs the traditional 24 hours to confirm results. I mean, come on, it would have been a total disrupter or someone would have acquired the technology. It all seems to be very misleading from day one. My opinion only based on results!!
With that being said, stay with reputable NYSE and Nasdaq stocks that are profitable or moving in the right direction toeards profitability!

Omar... "I wonder about MV, maybe he knows someone who worked around Nanologix stuff ? "
Only one person mentioned from the early days who had several patents he developed within the company that might be out for revenge IMO... could it be Serge?... nothing but speculation... doesn't matter it's all done anyway. From what MV has stated I wonder if BNF, BNP, N-assay, or RVA were ever tested with the "gold standard". Don't know how one can find out unless one or more of the testing companies came forward and acknowledged it. But who knows, perhaps NDA's or other legalities prevent them from doing so.

Emerald,
"The one Battelle paper on shelf life clearly describes at least a two year shelf life for the Petri plates. I could not find any reference to ten years anywhere."
There is one with two years or more that is a little different than "at least a year shelf life"....I wonder how much "more" ?.....I wonder about MV, maybe he knows someone who worked around Nanologix stuff ?
https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/nanologix-offers-eu-hong-kong-prc-petri-flatpack-packaging-patents-for-35-50-million-1002334706
The FlatPack, a method of vacuum-packing for petri plates in an inert gas environment, enables long term storage of many types of petri plates at room temperature for two years or more without deterioration of the nutrient agar contained in the filled plates. Standard storage times and conditions for competitors' petri plates are normally three months in a refrigerated environment. The potential economic impact of long term high quality non-refrigerated agar-filled petri plates is significant, with daily use of agar-filled petri plates worldwide numbering in the millions and access to both guaranteed-quality agar plates and dependable refrigeration for storage varying widely from area to area.
Then there is this...
https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20140223005248/en/Nanologix-Inc.-Sets-New-Standard-for-Extended-Shelf-Life-of-Petri-Plates
HUBBARD, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NanoLogix Inc. (OTCBB: NNLX), an innovator in the rapid detection, identification of live bacteria, and determination of their antibiotic resistance and sensitivity, announces that a New World Standard for Petri plate shelf life and storage conditions has been established by NanoLogix. The Company has been informed that ongoing tests by the worldβs largest private Research and Development corporation have shown NanoLogix Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA) plates packed in exclusive, patented FlatPack® packaging for 19 months performing as well as one-week old competitorβs plates. With this milestone, NanoLogix petri plate shelf life has reached nearly 10 times the competitionβs room temperature shelf life of slightly over 2 months and 5 times the competitionβs normal cold-storage shelf life. Prior to this study, the standard for shelf life of TSA petri plates was for cold storage only, for a period of 3-1/2 months. In an additional milestone reached in internal Company cold storage tests, NanoLogix TSA petri plates are approaching three years on the shelf with no loss of viability from when first manufactured.

Deep Pockets,
Just opinion but Iβll speculate that MV, with an identity created right around the date of the PR dealing with the RVA, could possibly be the one responsible for complaints to FINRA, the SEC, and the FDA. His/her statements about Petri plates, microorganism detection in four hours, and shelf life of ten years are not so subtle misstatements of FACT that can be checked on the Nanologix website by reading the research papers published by the research company Battelle coincidentally authored by that James Rogers fellow, and in other journal articles authored by Dr Faro and others and for which I see an award to that doctor by a group of his peers at CAOG in 2016. The one Battelle paper on shelf life clearly describes at least a two year shelf life for the Petri plates. I could not find any reference to ten years anywhere.
Itβs a shame about the health issues suffered by Bret. I read that they were caused by agent orange but have to wonder if stress was a factor.
Now that Iβve spent an hour reading the documentation on the website I have to say Iβm glad itβs still up, although I wonder why this board is still active.
Over here, Portugal has dealt strongly with decisions against the use of PCR due to massive errors in diagnostics of Covid. I wonder if the rest of the EU and eventually the US will do the same, but I doubt it given the odd obsession they have with manipulation of numbers and results. FYI, I know many unvaxxed people and none of them contracted Covid.

DP- His SEC visit basically shut him down. From that visit, his schemes were put to an end. The Gov't wants big fish like Elizabeth Holmes from Theranos. I'm not a lawyer but I could prosecute him in a court of law. Just on the Petri plate bigger than penicillin BS press release to nowhere that his technology could detect microorganisms in 4 hours. A fraudulent lie and total deceit that sucked in investors thinking he developed something revolutionary. Or, that his flat pack could last 10yrs unopened. Not only is that not true but is irrelevant bcz you don't need to store Petri plates you order as required. But, the 4 hr deception was no different than what Elizebeth Holmes is spending 10yrs in prison for misleading and lying about what Theranos blood test technology could do. Maybe you didn't notice but that press release to nowhere about the 4 hours mysteriously disappeared from NNLX website. Those are the facts Jack, not opinions!!! And, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Well MV... this is where you appear to go off the rails....We all have opinions.." Lies, deceptions and fraud "have never been proven in a court of law so to call them " Facts " is your opinion and you share that with all PIPE investors I'd guess.........and those folks all feel duped I'd bet...It was a poor choice by Nanologix to go that route but I suspect BB was pulling out all the stops, had no other revenue choice and is now paying a big price.......I suspect he's lost the most...Housing, health, his business, friends who believe him.........nasty at best

Yman- There is no vision with NAssay and RVA. He invented nothing, period!!! The Mr Socko inventions/patents were worthless then, and are worthless now! You can patent anything, and call it an invention, but if it serves no value, nobody buys it, and has zero sales what was your invention worth? Nada!!! The vision is deaf, dumb, and blind!!! The legacy is filled with lies, misrepresentation, and fraud!! If someone wants to buy all of that, I have land in Gaza to sell you. Unfortunately, you are all chasing your tails and have failed to look at 14 yrs of concrete evidence of deception, rinse, recycle, and repeat press releases to nowhere. If 14yrs of rinse, recycle, and repeat haven't proven to everyone that it was all BS, then God bless you for wishful thinking!!! Why is Bret not releasing his patents or selling them? First, they are worthless. Second, maybe because it would show it was a lot of BS and not valid or relevant to what he was putting out and saying publicly to investors. But, creating a false sense of something special and bigger than penicillin mirage. That it might be proof he misrepresented things to shareholders!!! Think about it!!!
Otherwise, you would all be counting your money and Bret would have finished his house and be a multi millionaire. Why else would you take those patents to your grave???? My opinion is based on 14 yrs of facts and theory on why he is trying to take those patents to his grave.

DP,
"yman....never said that house was not for sale......Ya all revert down to omar's high school mentality at times......."
You were wrong ! LOL.....you have ways to go to catch up to high school level it appears !
Now it's so sad for BB, but do you know for a fact what condition he is in or is this what you read or hear from second hand sources ?
Regardless, he didn't finish that house and he didn't run the company very well all criticism he deserves, it was stuff he did before his "heart attack" anyways. Go cry a river for your boy BB !
Also, BTW, below from the other board this was posted March 2023....sounds like someone disabled ?
"Great news!
BB has been recovering well in December and is back to work.
Staff are healthy. Business is slow but increasing.
Best to BB and staff and all true longs!

I just caught up with the posts for the last few weeks. Like many of you, I await June 24 and Antβs work to resolve this situation one way or another. At one time, I thought Nanologix would be a ticket to a solid retirement. I was wrong. Ironically, it was the brother who recommended the technology/stock to me back in the grape juice days of 2007 who provided that ticket to me, sadly through an early death. So, Iβm writing this in a cabin on a World Cruise, anxious to write off the big red numbers that stare at me everytime I look at my Schwab account.
Thanks for all the posts and history (other than the less than useful attacks and namecallling ones!). And, thanks again, Ant for pursuing this as you have.
