Eagle Broadband, Inc. (AMEX:EAG), a leading provider of broadband,
Internet Protocol (IP) and communications technology and services,
today announced that World Communication Center (WCC), a leading
provider of global satellite voice and data communications, will
distribute various models of Eagle Broadband's SatMAX product line,
including Eagle's innovative Alpha Emergency Communications System
(ECS). Eagle's current patented SatMAX (Satellite Media Access
Extender) offering includes three models designed to offer reliable
voice and data communications in any non-line-of-sight environment:
fixed structure (rack mount) and the two portable Alpha products:
portable and the new "SatMAX in a suitcase" ECS. Eagle's SatMAX
systems use Iridium satellite technology and unlike the
single-channel WCC HSK, the system allows each member of the
emergency management team to communicate seamlessly inside and
outside buildings via satellite transmissions without the provision
of landlines and cell towers. "Due to last years' hurricane season,
many first responders realize the urgent need for emergency systems
that aren't dependent on traditional telecommunication connections
such as landlines or cellular systems," said Dave Micek, Eagle
Broadband's President and CEO. "The SatMAX Alpha product solves
these problems and allows for the flexibility to be inside a
building while maintaining a satellite voice connection." WCC CEO
Weldon Knape states, "Both WCC and Eagle share an unwavering
commitment to supporting our global emergency response community.
The new relationship provides a natural fit in that both companies
share pivotal products and services with organizations where
connectivity is crucial, such as organizations requiring disaster
clean-up, security-sensitive environments and back up
infrastructures. Together, with a new upcoming SatMAX product
launch to be announced shortly, emergency personnel will gain an
extra flexibility with a quick, easy-to-implement communication
system deployable worldwide." About WCC World Communication Center
