eMagin Corporation (AMEX:EMA), a leader in virtual imaging technology, is demonstrating its low-power OLED microdisplay technologies in Stand 2745 at the 2005 Association of the US Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in the Washington Convention Center today through October 5. eMagin microdisplays are used in growing numbers of situational awareness, thermal imaging, and simulation and training applications. The solid-state OLED displays do not use liquid crystal fluids, so they instantly switch images on and off at low temperatures (-40 degrees C) and images do not fade out (know as clearing) at high temperatures (+65 degrees C) which are common temperature operational requirements for the military. Based on Quantum3D's THERMITE(TM) Tactical Visual Computer and featuring a patent-pending weapon-mounted synthetic environment controller, correlated head/body/weapon motion trackers, and load-bearing vest, Expedition provides an integrated, wireless, open-architecture platform that enables rapid development and deployment of embedded training and mission-rehearsal scenarios. -- Simrad Optronics' LP10TL Target Locator (www.simrad-optronics.no) provides instant target coordinates and fall-of-shot correction. The menu-driven LP10TL works well with field measurement devices, thermal cameras, terminals, gyros, and similar equipment. Providing dual 7x or 12x magnification and operating effectively from temperatures as low as -30 degrees C, the target locator system also incorporates GPS, digital magnetic compass, and a high-resolution OLED display. -- Total Fire Group's (www.totalfiregroup.com) Fire-Warrior micro thermal imaging system, a monochrome, helmet-based unit provides hands-free thermal imaging for firefighters, leaving both hands free for the work of fighting while providing critical visual information. eMagin's Z800 3DVisor will also be featured with Quantum3D's Expedition System in the Army Materiel Command's exhibit, Stands 519 and 706.
