LONDON--Qatar Petroleum and the Royal Dutch Shell have awarded
WorleyParsons a five-year contract to provide engineering services
to the Pearl gas-to-liquids plant in Qatar, the Australian company
said.
The deal will see WorleyParsons carry out engineering,
procurement and construction management, known as EPCM, services at
the Pearl GTL site, primarily for a series of planned brownfield
projects. The Australia-based firm declined to disclose the value
of the contract, or the specific projects for which it would be
providing EPCM services.
The $19 billion Pearl GTL is the largest gas-to-liquids facility
in the world, producing 140,000 barrels a day of oil products
produced from Qatar's vast gas reserves. The plant has been in
operation since 2012 and also produces 120,000 b/d of natural gas
liquids and ethane.
