Eni SpA said Friday that it would build an industrial waste-management platform in Ravenna, Italy, through a new joint venture with multiutility company Hera SpA.

The Italian energy company said the platform would process up to 60 thousand tons a year of waste produced by environmental and production activity. Its authorization process is expected to begin next year.

Eni said its subsidiary Eni Rewind will procure the solid and liquid waste-processing services, and Hera's subsidiary Herambiente will run the plant.
