Acquisition of Watson-Marlow Bredel distributorships in South Africa.


Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, which provides knowledge, service and products,
including peristaltic pumps, worldwide for the control and efficient use of
steam and other industrial fluids, announces the acquisition, with effect from
1st April 2003, of the Watson-Marlow Bredel peristaltic pump distributorships
from Walter Becker South Africa (Pty) Limited for 1.3m pound sterling.  The
consideration will be satisfied from existing borrowing facilities.
