The Italian industry ministry hasn't been notified by Iran of any plans to stop crude supplies to Italy, said a spokesman Tuesday.

"We haven't received any official communication from Iran," said the spokesman when asked by Dow Jones Newswires about a report that the Islamic Republic was considering stopping crude sales to Italy.

Earlier Tuesday, Iranian state broadcaster Press TV said, citing people familiar with the situation, the country had cut oil exports to Spain and was considering taking similar action regarding Germany and Italy.
