Entergy Selected to Exclusive Sustainability World Index for Fourth Time

Entergy ranked among the best in safety, climate strategy and

-- The Dow Jones Sustainability Index again named Entergy
Corporation (NYSE:ETR) to their exclusive World Index and North
American Index for 2009-2010. Entergy was one of only two U.S.
utility companies selected to the world index. The DJSI has
included Entergy on the North American index for eight consecutive
years and previously recognized Entergy as the only U.S. utility on
the world index in 2006, 2007 and 2008. "Recognition by the DJSI

follows a best-in-class approach and includes sustainability
leaders from each industry on a global and regional level
respectively. The annual review is based on a thorough analysis of
corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing
issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding,
climate change mitigation, supply chain standards and labor
practices. The DJSI North America selects the top 20 percent in
each industry sector from a pool of the 600 largest. The DJSI World
captures the top 10 percent of the biggest 2,500 companies
worldwide based on long-term economic, environmental and social
