Trading Update
In our trading update of 9 September 2003 we referred to the status of two large
contracts awards, which were expected during the third quarter of this year.
Since that time one of these contracts has been lost but the other contract
award has now been confirmed for commencement in November 2003.
The contract is a multi-site technical services and software program in South
America of more than two years' duration, worth close to 10 million US dollars
over that period. The program is focused on training and technology transfer and
represents the third phase of a long-standing relationship with this client. The
scope of work includes components of all of KBC's products and services
including the development and implementation of a corporate wide reliability
program and on-site profit improvement implementation training. In addition, KBC
will train and assist the client to improve its operations planning tools, and
will construct, install and maintain KBC's complete suite of Profimatics
optimisation software.
This award provides a significant element of the outstanding work needed in
order to deliver the profit expectation for 2003 set by our previous
announcement. Together with a number of other smaller contract awards received
during the last month, this should ensure a continued recovery into 2004.
