The Hong Kong dollar fell heavily against the US dollar on Friday morning in Asia amid steep sell-offs in domestic equities, depreciating 0.08 percent to reach a fresh 7-month low of 7.7643 from the day's high of 7.7576.

With the failure of breaking the 7.75 support in the past one year and a subsequent rebound suggest the USD/HKD pair may extend its advance towards the next resistance around the 7.7665 area, which is the next support for the domestic unit.
