CATC Adds Multilane Serial ATA Analysis and Enhanced Triggering to
SAS Platform SAS and Serial ATA developers to benefit from true
'bilingual' analyzer platform with native SATA-II recording and 256
levels of sequential trigger events SERIAL ATA PLUGFEST, LONGMONT,
Colo., March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Computer Access
Technology Corporation (CATC) , a leading communications protocol
expert company, begins shipment this week of major enhancements to
the feature set of the industry's first Serial Attached SCSI (SAS)
4X analyzer, the CATC SASTracer(TM). This software release, the
SASTracer v1.1, adds comprehensive Serial ATA recording and
analysis for up to four 1.5 or 3 Gbps SATA links. Other
improvements including, the industry's most powerful triggering
capabilities, enhanced filtering, STP decoding and a 3 Gbps
exerciser option, make the SASTracer equally suited for 4-wide SAS
or 4 port SATA verification tasks. Industry leading companies,
including Adaptec, LSI Logic, Maxtor and Seagate, have selected the
CATC SASTracer analyzer to aid in their advanced SAS product
development. With the addition of full SATA and STP capabilities,
the SASTracer becomes an even more powerful analysis tool for
testing SAS, SATA and mixed SAS/SATA single and multi-link
environments. Featuring a new triggering model, version 1.1 can
monitor up to 256 levels of conditional trigger logic with up to
three "events" per level. Expanded filtering options, data
truncation, port naming and other enhancementscomplete offer
engineers a far-reaching, mature feature set unmatched in the
SAS/SATA verification tools market. An integral part of SASTracer,
the intuitive and powerful CATC Trace(TM) expert analysis software
processes, decodes and analyzes capturedSAS and SATA traffic.
Embedded in this sophisticated application is a deep understanding
of the protocol hierarchy and intricacies, enabling engineers to
quickly capture and validate their product designs. The SASTracer
v1.1 adds superior data viewing capabilities with the new Link
Tracker(TM) chronological view. In one screen the Link Tracker view
displays a logical image of transactions on the bus along with a
time synchronized display of DWORD traffic moving upstream and
downstream on each physical link. SASTracer is based on CATC's
Universal Protocol Analyzer System(TM) (UPAS(TM) 10K), a high
bandwidth, modular hardware platform capable of supporting
multi-lane analysis and traffic generation. In addition to SAS and
SATA, the UPAS 10K platform supports Fibre Channel, InfiniBand(R)
and PCI Express(TM) analysis. "The storage market is very important
to CATC and we are committed to providing the expert analysis
functionality that our customers need to rapidly bring their
systems to market," said Carmine Napolitano, president of CATC. "By
quickly delivering the versatile, multi-port 3 Gbps SAS analyzer
requested by our customers, CATC continues to set new standards for
premier expert analysis tools for the storage industry."
Availability SASTracer v1.1 is scheduled for release on March 19,
2004 and offers a bus exerciser option as described in CATC's press
release of February 17, 2004. Existing SASTracer customers can
obtain the release under their maintenance agreement. For pricing
