Mich., May 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Manatron, Inc.
(NASDAQ:MANA) the national leader of property tax solutions for
state and local governments announced that it has received a
contract totaling $3.4 million from Sedgwick County, Kansas for its
GRM Property Tax solution. The contract includes related
professional services for the County Treasurer's office and five
years of annual software maintenance. This marks the second
contract win for Manatron's web-based property tax billing and
collection solution in the State of Kansas following the
announcement of the Company's first contract with the Unified
Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City. Sedgwick County
(Wichita) is located in south central Kansas. It is one of 105
counties in the State and has a population estimated at 500,000.
The County Treasurer's office, which functions as a bank for all
revenue-generating county departments, will be using Manatron Tax
to collect real estate, personal property, special assessments and
other miscellaneous taxes for the county, as well as all of the
cities, townships, school districts and other taxing jurisdictions
within Sedgwick County. Manatron Tax will also be used by the
Treasurer's office to apportion and distribute all of these taxes
to the local taxing units, which is approximately $475 million on
an annual basis. "This was an important win for Manatron," said
Paul Sylvester, Manatron's Chief Executive Officer. "It was our
second GRM contract in Kansas in less than a month and has had a
positive impact upon our backlog. Sedgwick County's selection of
Manatron Tax following a rigorous and competitive RFP process is
proof that we are solidifying our position as the leader in the
national market place. We look forward to a long and mutually
rewarding relationship with them." "We are excited about the
opportunity to work on two large new accounts in the same state,"
said Bill McKinzie, Manatron's President and Chief Operating
Officer. "This will allow us to leverage our costs more effectively
and will accelerate the completion of these projects as we expect
to utilize many of the same people to work on both of these
implementations. We continue to gain further economies of scale
with our GRM solution across the country." About Manatron, Inc.:
