Five City Application Management Series Explores the End-User
Experience as the Metric for Managing IT Change MOUNTAIN VIEW,
Calif., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today, Mercury
Interactive Corporation (NASDAQ:MERQE), the global leader in
business technology optimization (BTO) software, announced a new
application management seminar series to help customers optimize
the business outcomes of IT. The series will provide a world-class
forum for the exchange of ideas and advice on making the end-user
experience the metric for managing IT change and optimizing the
business outcomes of IT. The five-city series of events begins in
Washington D.C. on October 25, and will be followed by events in
Boston, New York, Houston, and San Francisco. Many enterprises have
over-invested millions of dollars on IT infrastructure management
tools, only to learn that a system-centric infrastructure
management approach does not drive business outcomes. The Mercury
seminar will explore how applications, systems and infrastructure
can all be optimized to deliver business value with a user-centric,
top-down view into application management. During the seminar,
Mercury and select Mercury customers and partners will demonstrate
how to use the latest application management approaches and
technologies to manage applications from a business perspective and
identify and resolve problems in production before they impact
business results. Attendees will learn how to: -- make sure
enterprise applications are meeting business goals and exceeding
service levels by prioritizing efforts based on business impact and
by applying service maps and utilizing business-orientated service
level agreements; -- optimize IT performance from the end-user
perspective by gaining real- time visibility into the quality of
the user experience and resolving issues before users experience
them; and -- minimize the business impact of planned and unplanned
changes by mapping business processes to the underlying
infrastructure, laying the foundation for a federated CMDB, and
aligning with process frameworks, such as ITIL, CMMi, ISO 12207,
ISO 9000 and CoBit. For additional information on this seminar
