Pathmark Stores (Nasdaq:PTMK)announced today that it had completed
its fundraising outreach campaign for those impacted by Hurricane
Katrina. Over $250,000 was contributed by customers and Pathmark to
provide relief in the Gulf Coast. In addition, Pathmark also

disposable diapers to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, an

were utilized as collection points for product donations in
cooperation with several local food banks in New York and New
Jersey, and Pathmark associates volunteered time afterward to help
the local agencies sort and pack product for shipment. "On behalf
of Pathmark, I wish to thank our customers and associates for their
generous support in assisting those whose lives were impacted by
Hurricane Katrina," stated Pathmark's CEO, John Standley. "The
response from all those who helped is exemplarily. The generosity
of not only contributing monetarily, but volunteering time to
assist in the shipment of product truly speaks to the compassion
that is felt." As previously announced, Pathmark will be sending
the funds raised to the American Red Cross. Pathmark is a major
supermarket chain, operating 142 stores in the New York-New Jersey
