Vipperman Elected to Board of Directors of Roanoke Electric Steel
Corporation ROANOKE, Va., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Joseph
H. Vipperman today was elected to the Board of Directors of Roanoke
Electric Steel Corporation . Vipperman is a retired Executive Vice
President of American Electric Power and former President/CEO of
Appalachian Power Company in Roanoke. He lives at Smith Mountain
Lake. A native of Stuart, Virginia, Vipperman serves on the Boards
of Directors of Friendship Manor Retirement Community, Shenandoah
Life Insurance Company, the Virginia Economic Bridge, the Reynolds
Homestead Foundation and the Patrick County Educational Foundation.
He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Averett University and a
member of the Advisory Board to the College of Engineering at
Virginia Tech. Roanoke Electric Steel Corporation has steel
manufacturing facilities in Roanoke, Virginia and Huntington, West
Virginia, producing angles, rounds, flats, channels, beams, special
sections andbillets, which are sold to steel service centers,
fabricators, original equipment manufacturers and other steel
producers. Five subsidiaries are involved in various steel-related
activities, consisting of scrap processing and bar joist,
