ViryaNet Limited (Nasdaq: VRYA), a leading provider of software
applications that automate business processes for mobile workforce
management and field service delivery, today announced that Open
Spatial of Australia will OEM and resell the ViryaNet Field
Operations Case Utility System (FOCUS) product to its customers and
prospects across the Asia Pacific region. ViryaNet, based in
Melbourne Victoria, develops the popular FOCUS product, which
enables utilities to manage all types of field work. The ViryaNet
product receives work orders from external systems, optimally
schedules appropriate engineers, sends all relevant data to their
mobile devices, returns updated data from the field to any external
systems, and provides an executive dashboard for managers to
monitor all field activity in real-time. Early successes for
ViryaNet include licensing its solution to the largest water and
wastewater utilities along the eastern seaboard of Australia, such
as Barwon Water, South East Water, City West Water, Gold Coast
Water, and Brisbane Water. Open Spatial Australia and ViryaNet
share many of the same customers that rely on both companies
technologies to improve business processes associated with field
service. Earlier this year, the companies announced that they would
develop and maintain the integration between their respective
products, including the ability to intelligently launch each
others applications from within each solution. Anthony Jahshan,
Managing Director at Open Spatial Australia, commented: The
decision to OEM the FOCUS product and make its functionality
available to our users became evident from the response we had to
the FOCUS product presentation at our Annual User Group Conference
in Melbourne last month. Our users response further cemented our
earlier resolve to deliver a totally integrated solution and build
it into our product offering. ViryaNets COO Jeff Oskin said,
With this comprehensive solution, a public works authority or
utility will be able to graphically view and locate its assets and
dispatch crews in optimal ways to repair conditions and minimize
downtime, thus eliminating potentially dangerous situations. The
solution also will allow management, dispatchers and call center
staff to quickly see the status of incidents, and provide estimated
restoration times to customers. There exists very good opportunity
in the Asia Pacific market, and we are delighted to be entering
this relationship with Open Spatial. The fully integrated solution
from Open Spatial Australia and ViryaNet will be available for
general release during Q1 2007. About Open Spatial Open Spatial
