AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star(R) dealers set a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) best month and best quarter sales record in March 2007. March sales rose 8 percent to 12,979 units (2006: 12,018) and first quarter sales increased 8 percent to 32,254 units (2006: 29,771). All three of the Chrysler Group brands posted increases in March: Chrysler brand sales rose 9 percent to 4,488 units; Jeep(R) brand sales accelerated 20 percent to 3,083 units and Dodge brand sales rose 2 percent to 5,408 units. Monthly increases were driven by successful sales of the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chrysler Pacifica and the Jeep Liberty. First quarter sales of 32,254 units also set a record by exceeding the previous record set during the second quarter of 2006 with 30,877 units. First quarter 2007 sales were positive across the board with the Chrysler brand up 7 percent, Jeep brand up 23 percent and the Dodge brand up 2 percent.
