TimeSys Introduces LinuxLink Subscriptions for Freescale's i.MX31 Multimedia Processor

support for Freescale Semiconductor's i.MX31 applications processor
at Embedded Technology West. Nissin Systems demonstrated the new
product, delivered and developed in partnership with TimeSys in the
U.S., in their booth during the show (May 10 and 11, 2006 at My
Dome Osaka). LinuxLink by TimeSys(TM), a subscription-based Web
service provides a comprehensive source for embedded developers
(e.g., kernels, tool chains, root file systems, and development
tools) supported by its service-oriented architecture. Subscribers
can at any time search for and download information and data
required for their embedded system development environment as well
as up-to-date contents for each type of processor. LinuxLink also
provides via Web Services, the Developer Suite, which contains the
integrated development environment (IDE), Linux migration test
tools, and other necessary tools, to greatly reduce development
cycle and cost. In addition, first-time engineers for Linux
environment can start development with ease because Nissin Systems
provides support in Japanese. The i.MX31 applications processor is
designed to deliver a longer lasting mobile entertainment
experience with richer multimedia functionalities and advanced
power management capability. Based on ARM's ARM11 platform and
enhanced with Freescale's Smart Speed(TM) Technology, the i.MX31
applications processor maximize the effective cycles per
instruction (eCPI) and is ideal for mobile devices. The i.MX31
applications processor also contains advanced security functions to
