Newport Beach Marriott to Undergo $60 Million Renovation Project
Includes Renovation of All Guest Rooms and Addition of World-Class
Spa, Meeting Space and New Restaurant Concept NEWPORT BEACH,
Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Newport Beach Marriott and its
owners, Host Marriott Corporation (NYSE:HMT), announced today that
the hotel will undergo a $60 million renovation beginning July
2004. The entire complex is being completely enhanced, upgraded and
renovated within the existing building footprint, without adding
additional square footage. The project will include the addition of
a world-class spa, updated meeting space, an exciting new
restaurant concept and 20 new luxury suites featuring sweeping
ocean vistas in the space formerly occupied by The View. Guest
rooms, along with the lobby, porte cochere and pool area, will also
be completely redesigned. The hotel is managed by Marriott
International (NYSE:MAR) and will remain open during the
renovation, which is expected to be completed by November 2005.
