Item 8.01.     Other Events.

On December 4, 2009, HRPT Properties Trust, or the Company, issued a press release announcing that it has closed a new mortgage financing for $175 million.  The Company intends to use the proceeds of this financing to reduce amounts outstanding under its revolving credit facility.
