Bayer AG (BAYN.XE) said Monday that it has selected a new
executive leadership team for its crop-science division and that
Monsanto Co. (MON) Chief Executive Officer Hugh Grant will leave
the company once Bayer's acquisition of Monsanto is finalized.
The team will be led by Liam Condon, who will continue to serve
on Bayer's board of management and as president of the crop-science
division. Mr. Condon is also responsible for the company's
animal-health business unit.
The team, which will be responsible for the combined business
activities of Bayer's crop-science division and Monsanto, will be
comprised of 11 further members. Bayer said Brett Begemann will
become chief operating officer of the crop-science division. He is
currently chief operating officer at Monsanto.
Bayer said the two companies continue to work closely with
regulators in order to finalize the deal in the second quarter of
2018.
