Eutelsat's high-performance KA-SAT
satellite will allow Telekom Slovenije to provide fast Internet
access to the 10% of Slovenian homes beyond reach of terrestrial
broadband
Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL), Europe's leading satellite operator, today
announced an agreement with Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia's leading telecoms operator, to offer
high-speed satellite broadband to the almost 90,000 homes that
remain unserved by broadband networks.
The new consumer satellite broadband service provided by
Eutelsat's high performance KA-SAT satellite will enable Telekom
Slovenije to offer internet access to the most rural homes across
the country. The service operates with a small (77cm)
easy-to-install satellite dish and modem.
Telekom Slovenije provides high-end mobile, fixed and IP
communications, multimedia content, and services to residential and
business users. Telekom Slovenije's Mobitel and SiOL brands are
synonymous with high-quality and user-friendly mobile and broadband
services.
