                         Disposal of Equity Investment

ID Data is pleased to announce that on 9 January 2004 the Company disposed of
2,000,000 Ordinary Shares of 5p each in New Opportunities Investment Trust plc
("NOIT") for a consideration of #1,097,800.  The disposal represents a premium
of #97,800 to the written down carrying value of the investment in the Company's
interim results for the six months to 30 September 2003.

This sale represents the total holding of ID Data and thus the Company no longer
has a notifiable interest in the issued share capital of NOIT, however ID Data
continues to hold 400,000 warrants in NOIT, which are exercisable at #1.00, at a
nil carrying value.
